Summary: Futurismic, 2009

Futurismic is a near-future oriented blog, with plenty of techy and social news. They generally publish a story per month. One month was skipped in 2009, so 11 new stories appeared, all shorts, about 50,000 words of fiction. Paul Raven is editor-in-chief, and Christopher East is fiction editor.

I generally quite enjoy the stories. This year was perhaps not as good as last year, but still pretty good. My favorite story was "A Programmatic Approach to Perfect Happiness", by Tim Pratt, about a married couple one of whom is a robot -- with some nice twists to it. Other nice work came from Eric Del Carlo, Karen M. Roberts, and Genevieve Valentine.

All the stories were SF, and 3 of 11 were by women.
