Summary: Anotherealm, 2007

This is a webzine that has apparently been around for a while (since 1995, I think!), though I just heard of it recently. In 2007 they published 16 stories, all short (4 short-shorts), for a total of a bit over 50,000 words. The editor is Gary A. Markette.

I have to say that I found the fiction here uneven -- a number of stories were quite poorly written, and a few were built around rather trite ideas. Some were decent however -- the best were "Benthic Rhapsody", by Bruce C. Davis, about an AI in charge of an undersea habitat/ship falling in love with a human; Dru Pagliasotti's "Changing the End", in which a moral serial killer goes to Hell -- maybe; and editor Markette's "The Mother of All Christmases", a fairly amusing light piece about an angel's mother coming to visit while the narrator is charged by Satan (or Stan) with finding the Spirit of Christmas.

3 of 16 stories were by women, and 7 of 16 were SF.
