Cabinet des Fées is a journal devoted to fairy tales. It features fiction, poetry, essays, and art. Occasional issues appear in print, but most of their stuff is online. The fiction/poetry section is called Scheherezade's Bequest. I saw two issues in 2010. There was a third issue, this one in print, which I did not see. The editors are Helen Pilinovsky, Erzebet YellowBoy, Donna Quattrone, and Nin Harris. In the two online issues I saw there were 13 stories, all short, six short-shorts (of which at least one might also be regarded as a prose poem). All fantasy, of course, and 8 of the 13 stories were by women (61.5%).
The stories -- and poems, there are lots and lots of poems -- are generally fairy tale retellings. My favorite was "Afternoon Tale" by Patricia Russo (perhaps the least fairy-tale-like story, though it does involve magic), and I also liked stories by Keyan Bowes and Anna Yardney.
