Summary: H. P. Lovecraft's Magazine of Horror, 2009 This magazine came out irregularly for a few years. This year's Spring issue, #5, was the last. It was edited by Marvin Kaye. The one issue from 2009 featured 13 stories, 3 novelettes, 10 shorts (2 of those short-shorts), for some 67,000 words of fiction. I enjoyed Andrew J. Wilson's "The Thing's the Play", a funny John Dee/Necromonicon story; Ekaterina Sedia's "Cherrystones and Shards of Ice", about a city of the dead; and stories by Alexandra and David Konigsberg, Tanith Lee and Rosemary Hawley Jarman, and Arrin Dembo. 8.5 of the thirteen writers were women, 65%. No SF stories. Tags: magazines, yearly summaries 2009
